A small Teams update that’ll take the pain out of presenting

If you’ve ever sat through a Microsoft Teams meeting and winced every time someone said, “Next slide, please,” you’re not alone.

It’s a common issue – especially in meetings with multiple presenters. The awkward handovers, the delays, the stilted flow… it all adds up to a less-than-smooth experience.

Thankfully, Microsoft is making a change that should smooth things out.

Shared slide control is rolling out

Microsoft is introducing a feature that lets more than one person control presentation slides in a Teams meeting or webinar.

Until now, only the main presenter could click through the slides, leaving others to chime in with requests to move forward. It might seem like a small thing, but it really interrupts the flow – especially in webinars or team meetings with multiple speakers.

With this update, co-presenters can be given slide control, allowing them to take over when it’s their turn – no awkward pauses or back-and-forth needed. It makes transitions seamless and helps the whole meeting feel more polished and professional.

When will you see it?

The feature is already rolling out, starting with the Windows desktop version of Teams. It looks like slide control will be set up when scheduling the meeting, by assigning co-presenters ahead of time. Hopefully, the process will be just as smooth as the meetings themselves.

A welcome change

This is one of those updates that probably should have happened years ago – but we’re glad it’s here now. Combined with other recent improvements, like in-meeting chat, it’s clear that Microsoft is focused on making Teams more flexible and user-friendly.
