Windows 10 end-of-support: Avoid security risks by transitioning to Windows 11

Windows 11 has been around since 2021, but many businesses are still running on Windows 10 due to the perceived upheaval involved in upgrading. But now is the time to act, Microsoft are ceasing support for Windows 10 on October 14th, 2025.

Why is this happening?

Microsoft makes a roadmap for all it’s Operating Systems (OS), with a projected birth and retirement of each OS, and now is time for Windows 10 to retire.  The OS won’t just stop working overnight, it will remain functional but become vulnerable as it is no longer receiving updates.

What are the risks if I don’t upgrade?

Security risks to your business are huge when you’re operating on unsupported systems. Cyber criminals are aware of the cease in support and will be targeting the vulnerabilities in Windows 10 once the security updates end. Microsoft are aware of the potential threats and are advising people to upgrade to Windows 11 to avoid the risk.

A cyber attack on your business can be unrecoverable, exposing confidential data and damaging your reputation if client data is released.  It’s also hard to regain trust once you’ve been exposed to a cyber-attack, would you want to work with someone who’s had their confidential data exposed?

Running on the latest systems also improves productivity by streamlining workflows, running the newest OS will give you a competitive advantage over any of your competitors still operating on Windows 10.

As October 14th approaches, we predict there will be a large increase in demand for new devices which could result in supply chain issues and even enlarged prices as suppliers react to demand.

So, what is the solution?
